It’s goodbye from them...

IT was the end of an era for pupils at Counthill School when they took part in a fun day to mark the last few days before the school closes its doors for good.
Youngsters got the chance to ride a funfair, bounce on inflatables and scale a climbing wall, just a few of the attractions on offer at the fun-filled event.
The celebration marked the closure of the school, which takes place tomorrow ahead of its merging with Breeze Hill School to open as the new Waterhead Academy in the next school year.
Pupils and their families joined former pupils, teachers and neighbours of the school to mark the historic event, and tours were taken around the school to browse through memorabilia, including punishment books.
MEANWHILE scores of photographs and memorabilia tracing the half-century history of Breeze Hill School have lined classroom walls to mark the end of an era for the school.
An open day was held to record the historical event as the school entered the last few days before closing for good.
It will merge with Counthill and re-open as the new Waterhead Academy in September.
Past and present pupils joined with friends, neighbours and current and former members of staff to take a last look around.
They looked back over 50 years of school life on Roxbury Avenue with the help of an exhibition in the main hall.
