Warbies to spread the word on bike safety

ON-THE-SPOT treats for road safety-conscious youngsters are due to be handed out in Oldham thanks to Warbutons Bakery.
The family company has sponsored 30,000 goody bags which will be given to children across the country who wear crash helmets, in a bid by the Bicycle Helmet Initiative Trust (BHIT) to increase safety awareness.
Cycling youngsters seen by police community support, road safety or BHIT officers will be given a pack containing a free prize draw card, a stretchy skeleton and a bookmark as well as information on safety helmets.
Graeme Stephenson, from Warburtons in Shaw, said: “At Warburtons, we take safety very seriously and are passionate about increasing safety awareness on our roads. We fully support this scheme.”
