Bakery boost for hospice

Kind-hearted staff at Warburtons bakery in Shaw have raised £2,500 for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice with a variety of fund-raising events.
Bakery staff were balloted on the charity to which they should donate money and they voted overwhelmingly for Dr Kershaw’s, which provides palliative care for almost 230,000 people in and around Oldham.
Warburtons has held several fund-raising events, most recently a Hospice to Hospice Walk between Dr Kershaw’s and Springhill Hospice in Rochdale.
The Shaw bakery’s community champion and fleet manager Paul Cartwright said: “Dr Kershaw’s Hospice is already well known to staff at the bakery which is why so many people voted for it.
“A few of us have relatives who receive care at the hospice.”
