THE final days of South Chadderton School became a celebration for its 50th anniversary with old-fashioned sports, up to date music and an outdoor fun field.
The school closes its doors this term to reopen in September as the new Oasis Oldham Academy, combined with Kaskenmoor School, Hollinwood.
South Chadderton pupils celebrated the half century with a barbecue, sports including the sack race and egg and spoon contest, and a festival stage led by 96.2 Revolution Radio, with the school’s talented pupils performing.
The fun field included hot-air balloon rides, an outdoor laser quest, human table football, a surf board simulator, Velcro Olympics and a penalty shoot out.
