TOP brass . . . Crompton House in action
TALENTED musicians from Crompton House School took the Royal Northern College of Music by storm.
The school orchestra and choir performed the challenging “The Armed Man, A Mass for Peace” by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins.
The musicians were joined by ex-students and staff from Oldham Music Centre and the Pennine Singers, which includes parents of Crompton House pupils.
Director of Music Jack Pickford, who is celebrating 20 years at Crompton House, said: “I chose a challenging piece for this concert, but one which would also inspire the performers and audience alike.
“The feeling at the conclusion of the piece was a mixture of joy, exhaustion and pride.”
