OLDHAM travel agents are working round the clock to help local holidaymakers affected by the collapse of doomed firm Goldtrail.
The London company went into administration earlier this week leaving 16,000 Britons stranded in Turkey and Greece.
Holidaymakers were told their flights were cancelled and they would have to pay again for their hotels.
People who have booked with Goldtrail for later in the summer face losing all their money.
A spokesperson for The Co-operative Travel in Oldham said: “We have very few customers in resort with Goldtrail, but everyone who books with The Co-operative Travel is fully financially protected and we are in dialogue with our customers and the CAA to help those currently on holiday.
“We are also contacting all those holidaymakers who are yet to travel to make alternative arrangements. All our customers will be taken care of, either by being offered an alternative holiday or a full refund, depending on their circumstances.”
Paula Stirling-Kelly, store manager at Thomas Cook in Oldham, said; “Although neither Thomas Cook nor Going Places sell Goldtrail holidays, we have been advising local holidaymakers affected by the company’s collapse on what they can do and offering alternative holidays to help them get away this summer.”
