Woman killed in crash

A 31-YEAR-OLD Werneth woman was killed after the car she was travelling in collided with a tree in Derbyshire.
Afshan Tariq, of Fern Street, was a passenger in a black VW Golf Cabriolet when it crashed on the A5004 Long Hill in Fernilee, at 9pm on Sunday.
The 19-year-old male driver, from Burnage, suffered head injuries and was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital before being transferred to Wythenshawe Hospital.
A 19-year-old male passenger, also from Burnage, was taken to Stepping Hill Hospital where he is now recovering.
An air ambulance and police helicopter were called to the scene but the two men were taken to hospital by road. Afshan died at the scene.
The road was closed for several hours and Derbyshire Police are now appealing for witnesses.
