THE dance team from Knowsley won a silver medal
OLDHAM’S young sporting stars were the runaway winners at the Greater Manchester Mini Games.
They scooped gold in six of the nine events at the competition which was held at Failsworth School — making it the borough’s most successful showing.
Primary schools which won the borough’s heats were chosen to compete against teams from Tameside, Trafford, Stockport and Manchester. St Joseph’s School, Shaw, notched up a double success as it clinched first place in the tag rugby and girls’ football.
There were also wins for Knowsley (gymnastics), Hodge Clough (hockey), Lyndhurst (basketball) and Woodhouses (golf).
