OLDHAM families can put on their running shoes and head to Alexandra Park on Saturday for a free family fun run.
Community First Oldham and national sports development charity Street Games are hosting the event as part of a campaign to boost health in the run-up to the London Olympics in 2012.
Starting at 11am, the Run 4 Fun event is open to all ages and abilities to run, jog, walk, wheelchair, or pram-push the 1km course around the park.
Everyone who takes part will receive a medal and fancy dress is optional.
Over 150 participants took part in last year’s event and it is hoped more will take part this year.
Other events on the day include a climbing wall in Alexandra Park from 9am and the Oldham Sporting Honours ceremony at Oldham Sports Centre from noon.
John Dwan, managing director of Sport4Life, the organisation delivering the event on behalf of Street Games and Community 1st Oldham, said: “This will be the third Run 4 Fun in Oldham and we’re aiming to make this event even bigger and better than the previous two.”
