Council clean-up team on the case
Date published: 23 July 2010
A MIXTURE of warm weather and heavy downpours has seen weeds flourish on roads and footpaths across Oldham.
Staff from the council’s Streetscene team have been out and about in specially-adapted weed spraying quad bikes in a bid to rid the borough of the unsightly growth.
The highly-trained team is responsible for spraying a total of 540 miles of footpaths and an additional 70 miles of alleyways three times a year.
If anyone spots weeds on the footpath or in any public area they can report it by calling 0161-770 6644 or filling in the online form at www.oldham.gov.uk/contact_us
