Pupils from Kaskenmoor and South Chadderton schools have joined forces to set up their own radio station.
The 16-strong team had two days training at Key 103 in Manchester to learn presenting, reporting, sales and marketing.
They then launched their own station — you-nique — and a monthly radio show which classmates can listen to online.
The first broadcast had a star-studded line-up, featuring interviews with “Big Brother 9” contestant Luke Marsden and “Hollyoaks” star Nico Mirallegro.
The two schools will merge in September to create an academy and you-nique promises to bring all the news, music, sport and gossip. Cimone Wright, co-ordinator of Kaskenmoor’s aim higher programme, said: “The pupils have done really well and they have really enjoyed it.”
