Pupils get ready for the school’s 20th coffee morning
A High Crompton School is celebrating 20 years of coffee mornings which have raised thousands of pounds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
St Mary’s CE Primary has taken part in the fund-raising event every year since it was launched two decades ago, and has so far raised £6,500.
And this year they will get together with friends, family and colleagues on September 24 to raise more money.
Head teacher Pamela Hartley said: “Macmillan Cancer Support is a fantastic charity.
“We all know someone who is affected by cancer which is why we are so keen to continue supporting the coffee morning and we hope to raise lots of money to help fund its vital cancer services.”
Macmillan’s chief executive Ciarán Devane said: “We are very grateful to everyone who takes part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
“Every penny raised will help fund more services for people affected by cancer.
“The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is a really fun event that is really easy to take part in, especially as you can tailor it to suit yourself.”
To register to host a coffee morning visit the charity’s website: www.macmillan.org.uk/coffee or call 0845-070 1315.
