THIS year’s Rochdale Canal Festival will see more free events than ever before across Oldham — including music, fun and fishing.
It was launched by Oldham Mayor, Councillor David Jones, when he arrived at the canal basin in Failsworth on Saturday by boat. Events will take place every day until Sunday evening.
Councillor Kay Knox said: “This year the festival will be bigger than ever with more than 50 activities taking place throughout the week. The Rochdale Canal is a major engineering achievement and its restoration has had significant benefits to local communities along its route.
“The festival is a celebration of the canal plus an opportunity for people to come along and see what goes on and the huge range of activities that take place along it.”
