WINNING line-up . . . Deborah Briscall and tesco.com manager Andy Steele celebrate her win with German beer
ENGLAND fans didn’t have much to toast after their team’s dismal showing in South Africa.
But three Oldham Chronicle readers have reason to celebrate after the newspaper teamed up with Tesco Extra for a World Cup giveaway.
Deborah Briscall, from Springhead, received a Samsung blu-ray player, cases of beer and ready meals from the Huddersfield Road store.
She correctly answered that England beat West Germany in the 1966 World Cup final. Runners-up Jackie Walton, from Werneth, and Norman Jones, of Woodhouses, also won beer and ready meals.
