YOUNGSTERS dressed as pirates to take part in the Barnardo’s Big Toddle to the Grass Roots Project
TODDLERS took to the great outdoors as part of Barnardo’s Big Toddle event.
They walked from Failsworth Children’s Centre to Higher Memorial Park to raise money for the children’s charity.
The youngsters enjoyed an afternoon of play at the park after taking part in the event to help support disadvantaged children under the age of five.
The event also enabled the children’s centre, which is based at Propps Hall Primary School, to promote free outdoor local facilities and projects on offer to children and their families.
A second Big Toddle event took place from the children’s centre at Mather Street School.
Youngsters from the centre’s Play Together group walked to the Grass Roots Project in Marlborough Drive, Failsworth, where they got the chance to explore the outdoors.
Dressed as little pirates the children took a tour of the environmental community project, met the chickens and ducks, learned about bees and their hives, investigated hedgehog houses and even did some planting.
