Neighbour centre latest in the link
Date published: 27 July 2010
A new neighbourhood centre is being provided at Stoneleigh Primary School, linked to the near-by St James’s Children’s Centre.
Consultation with local people has been carried out by leaflet drops, questionnaires and coffee mornings, when Oldham Council reached 338 householders.
Now a grant of £50,000 from a Department for Education programme will be invested in the community building attached to the school, as part of wider plans to develop a neighbourhood hub.
The money will be used to provide a small kitchen, baby changing area, toilets and a consultation room.
The work has to be carried by the end of March next year.
