TRANSFORMED . . . residents have praised the makeover given to Shaw Road End Park
PRAISE has been heaped on council staff who have transformed a section of Shaw Road End Park in Royton.
Streetscene and the Bloom and Grow team cleared overgrown plants, demolished a derelict toilet and replanted new bushes on the park.
Residents have been thrilled with the results, saying the park now looks clean, tidy and safe to walk in.
Oldham Chronicle reader Pamela Marston (59), from near-by Oldham Road, said: “The gardeners have done a great job, I think they need a pat on the back for the work they have done over the past few weeks.
“I can see the park from my front window and its lovely to look at, so big congratulations must go to them from all the residents.”
Councillor Mark Alcock, cabinet member for Citizens and Neighbourhoods, said: “The members of our Streetscene and Bloom and Grow Teams have carried out a great job on Shaw Road End Park, as they have on the many other green spaces across the borough.”
