A CHARITY which works to transform the lives of severely disabled people hosted a civic visit.
The Mayor, Councillor David Jones, and Mayoress, Jean Jones, called at the Hollinwood-based ACE Centre North, to meet some of the people it helps.
It is one of three charities chosen by the Mayor for his support during his year of office.
The charity lends equipment to children and adults with a communication, learning or physical disability, to help them communicate or achieve greater independence.
The Mayor and his team of fundraisers will be collecting money to pay for an eye-gaze system to benefit people with the most complex needs.
The system helps people operate computers or communication equipment with a blink of the eye, or by dwelling on the desired area of the screen.
