FAILSWORTH Dynamos Football Club picked up a special award at their own end-of-year presentation.
The club, which runs 27 teams and has 400 players, spent the day handing out a range of awards, certificates and trophies.
In the morning, youngsters in the under-five category were given academy star awards at South Failsworth School playing fields, while junior players aged five to 11 picked up their trophies during an afternoon event at the Civic Centre.
During the afternoon ceremony, the club itself was awarded FA Community Club status.
Criteria to achieve the status includes having teams in every age group, providing mentoring for players, ensuring there is appropriate training for coaches, and having development plans.
John Bentley, Dynamos’ welfare officer, said: “It is an amazing achievement.
“We have been working for two years to achieve this status.
“The children will benefit because standards of coaching will be at a recognised FA level.”
