Dry stone wall project ongoing at Oldham Road, Grotton.
A £22MILLION project to repair crumbling retaining walls across Oldham is well under way.
Government funding was approved to strengthen 120 walls across Oldham, Rochdale, Tameside and Stockport last July.
Many of the walls were built more than 100 years ago and have been gradually deteriorating over time.
The walls are put in place to support road networks and ensure the safety of people travelling along them.
Work has now started in Oldham Road, Lydgate. Other walls to be worked on can be found in Ladcastle Road, Stockport Road and Ripponden Road.
