GLOBE trotting meerkat Alex is getting closer to nature on a luxury trip to the Philippines.

The furry faced Dr Kershaw’s mascot enjoyed a day at the exotic Mantigue Island Nature Park with his owner Claire Sykes.

The well travelled creature kept his cool as temperatures soared despite sporting his trademark maroon jacket.


THE Chronicle has linked up with Dr Kershaw’s Hospice to have a Summer of Fun with the latest fund-raising mascot.

The popular cuddly toy has been flying off the shelves and Chronicle readers are making him an even bigger star by taking him on their travels and sending us the pictures.
