MEMBERS of the Armed Forces can watch Latics for free thanks to a partnership between Tickets For Troops and the Football League.
The initiative has been set up as a way of saying thank you to men and women in the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Airforce and football clubs all over the country are signing up.
Gavin Megaw, director of external affairs at the Football League, said: “Football League clubs have a long-standing close relationship with the Armed Forces, and it is great to see Oldham Athletic supporting Tickets For Troops in this way.
“The charity is a fantastic way of giving something back to our servicemen and women and the Football League is proud to be making a contribution to that effort.”
Tickets For Troops chairman, Lord Jonathan Marland said: “Tickets For Troops has benefited from a great wave of generosity from our ticket donors who have wanted to demonstrate their support.
“I would like to thank the Football League for its kind and fantastic support in establishing this new relationship which enables troops from all corners of the country to support their local team.”
Tickets For Troops was set up last year to provide members of the Armed Forces free entry to major sporting events including football, horse racing, rugby, darts and cricket matches as well as theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions.
Since its launch, more than 200,000 tickets have been issued and almost 60,000 troops have registered on the website.
