Euro MP joins the fight for rights
Date published: 12 August 2010
A campaign supporting the rights of ex-servicemen and women is being backed by Oldham UK Independence Party Euro MP Paul Nuttall.
The Equality For Veterans Association (EFVA), is among other things, campaigning to provide ex-servicemen, who served for under 22 years before April, 1975, with an Armed Forces pension.
Mr Nuttall said: “I think it is an absolute disgrace that men and women who served this country have been treated so shabbily by successive governments.
“Their commitment should be recognised and reciprocated, but unfortunately it is not.
“There must be thousands of men and women in the North-West who served in the Armed Forces who feel they are not being supported in manner they deserve.
“I encourage them to contact EFVA and get behind the campaign.”
