CREATIVE youngsters have helped to transform an empty building into a work of art.
The council and Great Places Housing Group teamed up with children from St Hilda’s Primary, Grange School, Oldham College, Positive Steps Oldham, Robin Hill Youth Centre and Barnardo’s to breathe new life into North House in Coldhurst.
The building, in Rochdale Road, has recently been vacated by the council’s trading standards team.
The budding artists created a series of cheerful images to decorate the windows to give the area a colourful lift.
The work formed part of Bloom and Grow — Oldham’s entry into North West in Bloom — and was inspected by judges visiting the borough last week.
North House is set to be demolished later this year as one of five sites that are being redeveloped as part of the Gateways to Oldham housing project.
