Mumps bridge detours

MOTORISTS are facing traffic disruption as work starts to demolish Mumps bridge.
From Monday, until Friday, August 27, there will be a series of road closures affecting traffic leaving the town centre from 10pm to 6am.
East-bound traffic will be diverted along St Mary’s Way, Egerton Street, Shaw Road, Cross Street and Huddersfield Road/Lees Road, or Oldham Way, Manchester Street, Rochdale Road, St Mary’s Way, Egerton Street and Shaw Road, or Park Road, Glodwick Road and Cross Street.
West-bound traffic will be able to follow Union Street, King Street and King Street roundabout, or Union Street, Union Street West, John Street and Manchester Street.
The bridge is coming down to allow trams to run through the town centre.
