THE new chief executive of First Choice Homes Oldham is Cath Green, currently an executive director with Liverpool City Council.
She will take up the post following Hugh Broadbent’s retirement from the post at the end of the year.
Cath will take up her post as the ALMO (an arm’s length management organisation) set up by a local authority to manage and improve its housing) completes the agreement to transfer the council’s 12,000 homes and becomes a new housing association.
Ms Green has extensive housing experience having been involved in several housing transfers in Liverpool, as well as its Housing Market Renewal Pathfinder.
Mr Harry Burns, chairman of the FCHO board, welcomed her appointment and praised Mr Broadbent’s contribution.
He said: “Hugh has overseen a massive transformation to homes and neighbourhoods in Oldham since joining the council as director of housing 15 years ago.”
When Ms Green takes over the reins, she will be responsible for delivering a multi-million pound investment programme in homes and services across the borough. The actual transfer of council homes to FCHO is expected to be completed by Christmas.
