This is the smart new uniform tailored to every pupils’ needs at the Oldham Academy North.
From September, the students at the new education provider, formerly Grange School, will be wearing bespoke blazers with a specially designed badge, sleeveless sweaters, plus a striped tie — all provided free of charge.
The academy opens on September 7 and the uniforms, which also include fleece jackets, tracksuit bottoms or shorts, a PE top and socks for sports lessons, have all been measured and tailored for the students.
The uniforms are provided free this year to help families with the expense of ditching the old Grange outfits, and getting ready for the new term.
The logo of the Oldham owl, knot and woven fronds is surrounded by the academy motto — Believe, Create, Innovate, Achieve — intended to inspire students to succeed at the academy and in their future lives.
There will be four houses taking take their name from local places: Dovestone, Medlock, Tandle and Strinesdale. Students will wear a unique house tie and staff will also be associated with a particular house.
The replacement building for Grange School will eventually be constructed the site of Our Lady’s RC School in Royton.
