RECORD-breaking students at Crompton House are celebrating their best-ever results.
All five students who applied for places at Oxford were successful and a further eight got the grades they need to study medicine.
High-flier Robert Barker achieved five A* grades and is now off to Keble College, Oxford, to study chemistry.
Samuel Cooper, who got one A* and four As, will read English at New College, Oxford, following a gap year. Also Oxford-bound are Daniel Costigan, who will read maths, Henry Heston, who will study physics, and Tom Stewart, who will be on a music course.
Christina Hitchen, Rebecca Hilton and Graham Bolton will study medicine at Leeds.
Also studying medicine are Catherine Lomax (Birmingham), James Oldfield (Cardiff) and Sara Dawson (Nottingham).
Laura Heap will read dentistry at Kings College, London, and Ben Harvey will study veterinary medicine at Nottingham.
Head teacher Elsie Tough said: “A pleasing number achieved at the highest level and, despite the competition for places this year, five will be going on to study at Oxford University and a further eight will be studying medicine at universities across the country.
“These are both record numbers for the school.”
