An A-mazing achievement — council leader
Date published: 20 August 2010
STUDENTS have been congratulated by Oldham Council leader Howard Sykes following what is believed to be the 10th consecutive year of A-level result improvement.
Councillor Sykes said all Oldham’s A-level students should be congratulated on their hard work, commitment and dedication in gaining passes in the year the new A* grade was introduced.
He said: “These students can now take up the challenges and opportunities presented to them by Oldham being a university town.”
Councillor Sykes added: “None of this could have been achieved without the teachers, tutors, parents and carers who have taught, mentored and supported students. They have all helped our students reach these high standards.”
