Sporting, now exam success

GCSE:
ROYTON and Crompton School students Kyle Mayall and Thomas Lee jumped for joy when they ripped open their exam results.
Former head boy Kyle discovered he had two A*s, five B and five C grades, while Thomas had two A*s and eight As.
Kyle is not long back from Australia where he has been playing with Huddersfield Rugby League Club, and was delighted with his results.
He has represented England, and went to Huddersfield from Wigan Rugby League Club’s scholarship squad.
He kept up with his studies despite his sporting prowess, realising education success was vital as a back-up plan for sportsmen and women following a high-risk career.
Fellow pupil Thomas was also delighted with his results, and admitted he had worked extremely hard to do well.
He said: “I’m really pleased with my results and did better than I expected.”
