Date published: 26 August 2010
GCSE:
PERFECT 10 — dynamic duo Thomas Lee and Michael Smith, from Crompton House, got a full house of A*.
They scooped the best possible grade in every exam they sat. They are now looking forward to continuing their studies at the school’s sixth form.
Thomas will take A-levels in biology, chemistry, geography and psychology while Michael will study all three sciences and maths.
In the future, Thomas would like to study medicine while Michael is unsure of which career path he will follow.
Andrew Brocklehurst also achieved 10 A* but was away on holiday when the results were announced.
A further 19 students were delighted to achieve all A* and A grades — a record for the school.
Head teacher Elsie Tough said: “This has been a good year for our GCSE students with 91.5 per cent achieving five A*-C grades. It also very pleasing to note that 66 per cent of the grades are A*, A or B.
