Fill a box with food for flood victims

OLDHAMERS are urged to donate their unwanted tins and packets of food to the victims of the floods in Pakistan.
The Oldham Shoe Box appeal, which has been organised by the Oldham Pakistan Flood Relief Appeal, wants to collect as many boxes filled with food as possible.
The appeal has been launched jointly with the British Red Cross, Sainsbury’s and the fire service.
Filled boxes can be dropped off at 9 Ascroft Court in Peter Street, Aadam House in Lees Road and Sainsbury’s in Union Street.
l Firefighters are holding a charity car wash to raise money for the victim’s of the floods. Crews at Oldham Fire Station, Lees Road, will be doing their bit between 10am and 4pm on Saturday.
Proceeds are in aid of the Oldham Pakistan Flood Relief Appeal which was launched by the Mayor of Oldham.
