Car wash for flood appeal
Date published: 07 September 2010
FIREfighters raised £1,878 for the victims of the Pakistan floods.
They cleaned approximately 400 vehicles in six hours at a charity car wash at Oldham Fire Station on Saturday
They money will be given to the Oldham Pakistan Flood Relief Appeal, which was launched by the Mayor of Oldham, Councillor David Jones, last month.
Oldham has a 15,000-strong community of Pakistani descent and some of them turned out to help the firefighters’ fundraising effort.
