Angela Traynor . . . starring screen role
RUGBY union club merchandising assistant Angela Traynor has been rewarded for her behind-the-scenes dedication at Sale Sharks with a starring role on the small screen.
The 42-year-old, from Greenfield, has been selected to feature in a season-long television advertising campaign, designed by new Premiership sponsors Aviva, that highlights the work of unsung heroes at clubs across the country.
The adverts, on Sky Sport, ESPN and ITV, demonstrate the value of teamwork and recognise the important roles played by individuals behind the scenes in the rugby union premiership.
“I work in the ticket office at Edgeley Park in the morning and the shop in the afternoons and I work Saturdays on matchdays as well,” said Traynor, who formerly ran a pub in Urmston.
“I’m so pleased to have been picked to be the face of Sale. It feels really special to be part of it and it is very nice to think someone believes you are worthy to represent the club — it shows the club values everyone here.”
