Whitebank Stadium thieves in tools raid
Date published: 09 September 2010
POLICE are investigating a break-in at the Whitebank Stadium.
Thieves broke into the new home of Oldham Rugby League Club in Limehurst Village last night.
The intruders forced their way into a cabin and made-off with a number of tools.
It is believed the thieves were disturbed by local residents who went to investigate when they heard noises coming from inside the ground, which is also home to non-league Oldham Boro Football Club (formerly Oldham Town).
The incident will have no effect on Sunday’s expected near-capacity 1,500 crowd for the Championship One semi-final play-off against York City Knights.
