Take a look at our heritage

STEP back in time . . . Norman Harrison, who is visiting from Australia and is originally from Chadderton, and archivist Jo Robson examine the changing face of Glodwick
THE changing face of Glodwick is the subject of a new exhibition which kickstarted Oldham’s Heritage Festival.
The festival — which runs at various venues across the borough until Sunday — will give Oldhamers the chance to look behind the scenes at some of the town’s historical venues.
Churches, parks and museums are throwing open their doors for the event, which is part of a national scheme organised by English Heritage.
As well as the launch event at the Local Studies and Archives Centre, in Union Street, there will also be a tour of the Castleshaw Roman Fort in Denshaw, a tour of the Mayor’s Parlour at the Civic Centre and a tour of Greenacres Cemetery.
For details of the events go to www.oldham.gov.uk
Oldham Parish Church is staging tours of its crypt until 4pm today and tomorrow from 10am to 3pm.
There will be church tours at St Gabriel’s Church, Green Hill Road, Middleton Junction, from today until Sunday, 1-4pm.
