A third Saddleworth road is closed today because of retaining wall repairs.
Temporary road and bridge closures are needed at Greenbridge Lane, Greenfield, part of complex work to repair a wall and cavity.
Contractors arrived on site last week to start work on the badly deteriorated wall on the lane which connects Chew Valley Road with Oak View Road.
They were scheduled to use temporary traffic lights for the 20-week project, adjacent to Chew Brook.
But after consultation with residents and a revised site assessment the lane and the nearby pack horse bridge will be closed for safety during the works.
The closure comes after Grains Road into Delph was closed for a month on August 23 so temporary supports can be put in place to allow a section of retaining wall to be taken down safely.
And Roebuck Lane at Strinesdale, which connects Ripponden Road to Scouthead, closed for 26 weeks last week for retaining wall repairs.
