MUY bien! Pupils at Sacred Heart Primary School are getting a world- class education.
That’s because it is the first mainstream primary in the borough to receive an International School Award. The accolade from the British Council recognises work to promote a better understanding of the world.
Sacred Heart in Derker has carried out a range of projects with a school in Aleca, Spain, including a teacher-exchange programme funded by the British Council, comparing weather reports, and compiling tourist information. It also teamed up with Our Lady’s, Moorside, to learn more about different countries during the World Cup.
Teacher Angela Grant took part in the exchange and said: “We are delighted that our hard work has been recognised.”
