Bursary boost for young scientists

SEVEN students worked with scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians during the summer holidays.
The group members, from Oldham Sixth Form College, were awarded sought-after science bursaries by the Nuffield Foundation.
They undertook four to six-week projects in areas such as biological and life sciences, physics, chemistry and medicinal chemistry at Manchester, Salford and Huddersfield universities.
A record number of students are studying science at the college which opens its regional science centre in King Street in the spring.
