SOME of Oldham’s sporting bests gathered at Chadderton Town Hall to receive awards for their prowess.
Oldham Sports Awards 2010, organised by the council’s Integrated Youth Service, reward the time, effort and commitment given by local people to sports.
Eight categories serve to highlight not only those who are at the top of their sports, but also the coaches and clubs which have given them help and support to climb the ladder. Councillor Mark Alcock, cabinet member for citizens and neighbourhoods, said the awards were an opportunity for “fantastic work to be recognised.”
