Thomas: on the mend
A TODDLER who was left fighting for his life after his pram was dragged under the wheels of a lorry is on the mend.
Thomas Wilshaw was being pushed along Huddersfield Road in Littlemoor by his mum, Laura Wood, at 1pm on August 27, when the Viridor refuse truck hit his pram.
The two-year-old was dragged along until the lorry came to a stop outside the Weavers Arms pub.
Thomas suffered severe head injuries and was rushed to Manchester Childrens Hospital in a critical condition.
A month later, Thomas is now off the critical list and had been moved to a ward.
He is awake, feeding well and recovering at a steady pace although he will be in hospital for some time.
Laura, 20, and Thomas’s dad Ben Wilshaw, 24, said: “We wish everyone to know we are very grateful for all the messages of hope, cards and flowers received.”
