School in line for national award

Newbridge School has been short-listed for a national accolade for activities from water sports and camping to orienteering and rock climbing.
The special school in Hollinwood has been nominated for a Learning Outside the Classroom Award which will be announced at a ceremony on December 6.
The award recognises schools which use their grounds, museums, parks, activity centres and overseas trips to inspire pupils.
Newbridge head teacher Graham Quinn said: “We are delighted that our efforts have been recognised with this nomination.
A total of 27 schools have been short-listed for nine regional awards and will compete for the top national prizes.
