Sparkling Star . . . Oldham-born Madison Wren scooped the Miss English Diamond title
AN Oldham-born girl has scooped the Miss English Diamond title at a pageant in Manchester.
Glamorous 10-year-old Madison Wren wowed judges with her winning recipe of beauty and brains at the national competition, beating 40 other contestants to take home the crown.
The talented young starlet was judged on her inner and outer beauty and fundraising efforts for Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity.
Madison, originally from Moorside but now in Glasgow, was one of the stars of a BBC3 documentary, “Baby Beauty Queens”, aired in July.
But the active child, who is also the current Junior Miss Oldham and was representing the town, is no ordinary beauty queen.
Mum Moya said: “She loves getting dirty and playing out with her friends.
“Madison was absolutely over the moon when she won, the competitions have really boosted her confidence. I’m so proud of her.
“She loves animals and wants to be a vet when she is older, but she may pursue modelling too.”
The young winner walked away with an Ipod, a bracelet and a weekend family caravan holiday as well as her sparkling crown.
Madison’s dedicated mum now plans to take her newly-crowned daughter to compete in an international pageant in America in November.
