Man facing eight rape charges

A FAILSWORTH man appeared at Oldham Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with eight counts of rape.
Prosecutors said Ian Godwin (41), of Poplar Street, had carried out the sexual assaults over a nine-year period.
Godwin was remanded in custody to a Manchester Crown Court hearing on October 28.
