FOUR men accused of murdering 21-year-old Junaid Khan were remanded in custody yesterday by Oldham Magistrates.

Security was tight in the courtroom, as the four men, each facing a charge of murder, entered.

Three policemen stood guard as Kashif Khan (25) and Liaquet Khan (28), both of Worcester Street, Werneth; Syed Naveed Shabir (27), of Coppice Street, Werneth; and Milad Finn (22) of Stanley Road, Cheadle Hulme, entered the dock.

Tempers were frayed in the waiting room as family and friends were denied entry to the already full courtroom, and nine police officers were drafted in to calm the group.

Kashif Khan and Liaquet Khan were also charged with possession of a firearm, while Milad Finn was charged with making an untrue statement to obtain a passport.

The defendants, who were remanded in custody, were due to appear via videolink at Manchester Crown Court, Crown Square, today.

Junaid Khan, of Cotton Mill Crescent, Werneth, died after being shot in the car park of a doctor’s surgery in Block Lane, Chadderton, on July 8 last year.
