Motorists scratched their heads after new road surfacing on Lees Road was scraped up at the weekend.
The material failed to come up to standard and suppliers have agreed to take up the top surface and replace it at their expense.
The road is being resurfaced between Moorhey Street and Brewerton Road, and the weekend was the third closure. The road will be closed this Sunday for the repeat work, and again on October 31 to complete the resurfacing.
