TERRIFYING . . . the robber threatens staff with a knife
STAFF at a takeaway in Chadderton were threatened by a robber with a knife who stole the till.
Officers have issued CCTV images of a man they want to speak to in connection with the robbery at Subway on Broadway.
An offender walked into the branch at 7.50pm on Monday, September 20, picked up a bottle of Coke and walked up to the counter. He pointed a knife at a member of staff and demanded cash.
As the worker shut the till and stepped back, the robber climbed over the counter.
He managed to take the till and walked out of the shop. No one was injured though staff were left shocked. The till was later found near to Yew Trees School but the cash had been taken from it.
The robber is described as being a white man, around 19 or 20-years-old, of slim build, about 5ft 8in tall with blue eyes and bad teeth.
Det Con Simon Halliwell, based at Oldham CID, said: “Please take a good look at this image and if you know or recognise something about this person, contact me.”
Anyone with information is asked to call police in Oldham on 0161 856 6965 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
