The race to be a part of the London 2012 Olympics is now on for a would-be Oldham volunteer.
Amreena Azam met Lord Coe, chairman of the London Olympics, after completing a special course.
The Personal Best scheme is a national initiative for 16 to 19-year-olds not in work or education, who would like to volunteer to improve their skills and chances of getting a job.
Amreena (18), from Greenacres, received her certificate from Lord Coe, and fellow Olympic athlete David Moorcroft, among others.
Amreena said: “The course has given me so much confidence. I am now doing a course in social care at Oldham College.”
London 2012 will need 70,000 volunteers and Personal Best aims to prepare people for taking part.
