Third time lucky for Lees Road?

Re-laying Lees Road, at Clarksfield
MOTORISTS will be hoping work on a 300-yard stretch of Lees Road is finally finished after it was resurfaced for a third time.
The road was closed yesterday as contractors ripped up a problem section of tarmac that wasn’t up to standard and re-laid it between Moorhey Street and Brewerton Road.
It appeared smooth this morning, with lines painted and anti-skid surfacing in places, after a seven-week battle to get the work done.
Oldham Council had insisted on contractors CEMEX, whose head offices are in Surrey, carrying out the work again, with the company’s Oldham branch doing the work.
It was carried out on Sundays to keep disruption to a minimum with CEMEX meeting the extra costs.
