The wonder of Scouthead
Date published: 02 November 2010
SCOUTHEAD is in the running to be named one of the “Ten Wonders of Greater Manchester.”
It is on a shortlist of best-loved locations by residents from across the region’s boroughs. An image of the area’s natural landscape — thick with last year’s snow — will now face fierce competition from other popular local attractions.
It’s up against places such as Urbis, Victoria Baths and Old Trafford in a public vote to find the top 10 wonders of the region.
The popular locations were among hundreds of suggestions, from libraries and pubs to ruined mills and football stadiums, submitted to the System One Travelcards Wonders of Greater Manchester Facebook page.
Residents should vote for their favourites before the November 12 deadline. Visit www.facebook.com/group. php?gid=104158146304570.
